Responsibility and irresponsibility to self.
Working in liberal institutions and organizations can
put bifold effect on the individuals. We become either least responsible or
highly responsible to ourselves. Often it is seen that we become least
responsible since we come from the systems(society, house,
schools/colleges/universities) in which there exist a common perception that
those who do nothing(while on work/jobs) are quite a happy people and live a
comfortable lives. We always dream of a job or work where we would have a
little to do, a lot to earn and enjoy etc.
Often systems
have well developed monitoring and supervision mechanisms which are to an
extent are necessities in order to meet the set targets and keep the systems at
work, but same mechanisms become a source of exploitation and unhappiness/dissatisfaction
as obligations make individuals more dull and mechanized than creative. These
mechanisms are developed to oversee and supervise the human behavior of irresponsibility
to self/duties. However, it is a well known and proven fact that supervision and
monitoring can make a person well trained but not well disciplined, responsible
and creative. When we work, act on the orders of others we don’t apply our own
intellect and reason and thus our self-growth come to a halt, though we feel
ourselves at ease for the time being.
On the contrary, in systems where there are no tough
supervision or monitoring systems, there are chances that individuals can go
either way, either they become highly self-responsible and evaluate themselves
on regular basis or they become least responsible and careless; a mere time
killer, as they are responsible to no one.
We often run behind the enjoyment and satisfaction,
but it exists right here around ourselves in our works and daily life
activities. When we believe in ourselves, respect ourselves, our works become
our enjoyments, we set and meet targets, we learn new and new things each day,
grow spiritually and help others grow. In fact, when we become self-responsible,
we started loving what we do and this is what the satisfaction and enjoyment,
however satisfaction never mean stagnation, it is like moving ahead
successfully toward the destination which is itself a place to work, not an end
point.
We get both the chances and we chose our ways based on
our own wisdom, awareness and right knowledge.
