The mind speaks
In the cities every individual is behind the money, some are in the pursuit of earning, others are in the struggle to spend the earned one, some are trying to show off their wealth, some sit in the office and do paper work as part of their job, some wander in the streets to sell the things to earn the money to fulfill their needs.
Drivers and conductors do overload to earn more, in the offices people demand money for work, in the religious institutions preachers ask for money for whatever purposes, relationships are maintained and broken because of the money, people salute you if you have money earned by whichever way. While commuting I see people who are destitute, beggars, wanderers, they are ignored in the fast-growing world as if they are not human beings. There is insecurity in everyone, everyone is alienated, strange and competitor. Even close relatives of yours are also a stranger to you, you do not have confidence to sit in front of them because you are afraid that they will judge you by your work, dress and outfit, social connections.
These are our cities where no one looks at each other and smiles, unlike villages. But villages are also in the race to become urbanized and acculturated on the line of cities. People who have migrated to the cities think that they are superior to the village dwellers, and village dwellers live in an inferiority complex. There is natural beauty in the villages, but the villages have their own set of challenges. The caste system, ethnic differences, too much interference in personal life, petty enmities, jealousness, mental trauma of being a girl or boy, conservatism, narrow mindedness. The taunts and scolding of parents and extending families and much more.
Amid all this you need a niche where you can live your life to the fullest, where you can recreate, observe, learn and apply. But the tyranny is that you are part of this society, and you must thrive here. The only viable option is to dissociate yourself from the world while being associated with it, observe, live and learn without becoming a part of this saga. How much of it is possible I don’t know.
